Program Description:
LaBoiteaux Woods was on the path of an important network of Underground Railroad in College Hill during the 1840s-1850s. Walk part of a route used by escaping slaves on a rugged, 75 minute trail hike through the winter woods. Indoor activities include a simulated journey through to freedom and using maps to trace escape routes. Our local history brings the broader history of the Underground Railroad to life.
*Held at LaBoiteaux Woods
*Winter is the best time to experience this program: less foliage makes it easier to view landmarks and most journeys occurred during the cold months.
