Description: Classification isn\'t as mysterious as it sounds. We\'ll use clues given by animal eye placement and teeth type, along with a dichotomous key, to identify real animal skulls and determine to which taxonomic order they belong. Description: Everybody\'s Treehouse in Mt. Airy Forest provides a new perspective on the forest for people of all ages and abilities. Wheelchair accessible, the Treehouse can be the highlight of an educational program for your special needs class. Description: NatureConnections is Cincinnati Parks\' FREE outreach program to Cincinnati schools serving primarily at-risk and economically disadvantaged students in grades 4 - 6. The program consists of three naturalist programs all focused on a particular theme - one each in Fall, Winter and Spring. The Fall and Spring visits take advantage of green space within easy walking distance of the school, to provide outdoor experiences, activities and explorations that help make state science standards come alive. The Winter visit occurs within the classroom. Classrooms in the program are also able to borrow equipment from the NatureConnections lending library, to help with additional investigations.

From comparing sizes of birds in the Zoo to determining the microclimates in Manatee Springs, these real world problems will stimulate student proficiency in math, and are targeted to Tri-State standards. Mysteries of the Plant Kingdom: Seeds to Trees

Description: Students become detectives and use observation, evaluating and simple classification techniques to solve the mysteries of plants and trees. We will explore life cycles, seasonal changes, photosynthesis, and plant needs and characteristics while discovering the effect plants have on our everyday lives.
